The town of Portsmouth has two stations, Portsmouth Harbour and Portsmouth & Southsea in central Portsmouth, Hampshire. Portsmouth & Southsea is a terminus and through station split on two levels with a pair of tracks rising to, curved island platforms provided with a triple-vaulted and partly glazed roof in red on a metal frame work. The upper level tracks then continue on to Portsmouth Harbour Terminus.
The station is close to the Commercial Road Shopping Centre and located on the Portsmouth Direct Line which runs between London Waterloo 73 3/4 miles away and Portsmouth Harbour.
A branch line used to run from Portsmouth & Southsea to the Portsmouth Dockyard.
