Humberside Airport is situated in North Lincolnshire 15 Miles (21Km) from Hull and Scunthorpe, 10 Miles (18Km) from Grimsby and has easy access by car as it is on the A18 Motorway, 3 miles from Junction 5 of the M180 Motorway. There are also good connections from the Humber Bridge, A1 and M1, M18 and M62 Motorways.

Humberside is a small International Airport owned by Manchester Airports Group and acts as a hub for charter flights in the area and a Helicopter support unit for Humberside Police and a major Helicopter operational base for flights to North Sea gas platforms. There are also 5 resident flying clubs and organisations based at Humberside Airport.

Previously used by the RAF as RAF Kirmington from 1941 and operating Avro Lancasters of No 166 Squadron until 1945 when the base was abandoned. The airfield lay unused until 1974 when it was purchased by the local Council and following local government re-organisation in England the area was renamed from Kirmington to Humberside, in 1992 the main runway 03/21 was extended to allow for much larger aircraft.d after the war in 1945, and lay unused until 1974 when the local council re-opened the site as Kirmington Airport. When the local area was renamed Humberside following local government re-organisation in England, the name was changed to Humberside Airport. The main 03/21 runway was extended to its current length in 1992, allowing operation of muopch larger aircraft.

Getting to the Airport

By Bus

Stagecoach operate a bus service from Hull to the Airport and also Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

By Train

There is no Railway Station or railway connection at Humberside Airport, the closest station being Barnetby which is 3 miles away. Connections from here can be made to Doncaster mainline station.

By Taxi
