Information on Dover Priory Station
Dover Priory railway station is the main station in Dover, Kent, the other station being Kearsney situated on the outskirts of Dover. Dover Priory (named after the former St Martin's Priory nearby), is a modest, functional station, located between the 158 yard Priory Tunnel and the 384 yard Harbour Tunnel.
Dover Priory opened on 22 July 1861 as the temporary terminus on the London, Chatham and Dover Railway (LCDR). It became a through station on 1 November 1861 with the completion of the tunnel through Western Heights to gain access to the Western Docks area where the LCDR created Dover Harbour Station (now closed). With the closure of the Harbour station, Dover Priory reverted back to a terminus station.
Dover is located in the southeastern corner of the UK rail network.

- 2 tph to London Charing Cross via Folkestone and Sevenoaks.
- 2 tph to London Victoria via Canterbury East and Chatham.
- 1 tph to Ramsgate via Deal.
A new fast service over the HS 1 track to London St Pancras, taking 64 minutes compared to the off-peak service from London Charing Cross which takes 91 minutes is due to start 13 December 2009. The planned off-peak service to London St Pancras is one train per hour and five arriving during peak hours between 07.00 and 09.59.
