Information on Cardiff International Airport



In the Village of Rhoose, Vale of Glamorgan, 12 miles (19KM) South West of Cardiff you will find Cardiff International Airport (Welsh: Maes Awyr Rhyngwladol Caerdydd), this is the only airport serving Wales with International scheduled flights, there is a smaller airport in wales which only offers scheduled flights this being Anglesey Airport. Highland Airways operate several daily  services between Anglesey Airport and Cardiff International Airport Cardiff, making this a quicker route for commuters between North and South Wales.

Cardiff caters for low fare, business and charter carriers, corporate and general aviation and is owned by TBI Plc. The airport is 10 Miles from Junction 33 M4, where it is signposted via the A4232, A4040 and A4226. Unfortunately there is no train station  at Cardiff International Airport, so if traveling by train you will have to alight at Roose Cardiff International Station and take the free shuttle bus to Cardiff Central Bus Station then take a connecting bus to the Airport.

Executive Aviation.

Executive aircraft that visit the airport are served by Signature Flight Support who are the Worlds largest FBO and are based on the Northside of the airfield.

On the Southside of the airfield are the company offices of Dragonfly Executive Air Charter and they operate three Beechcraft King Air 200 series aircraft.

Flight School.

There is only one flight school operating from Cardiff International Airport, Cardiff Academy of Aviation and they have a fleet of Robin, Cessna and Piper aircraft.
