Information on Bradford Interchange Station

The Lancashire & Yorkshire gave Bradford its second station, later called Exchange, on 9 May 1850, with the Great Northern adding Adolphus Street in 1855 but increasingly using Exchange from 1867.
The latter was completely rebuilt in 1888 and then lasted until 1973 when it was demoted to a car parking site. However, part of the location was used for the present Interchange station which handles trains on the Leeds and Manchester routes.
At Interchange an escalator leads from the ground floor concourse and the adjoining bus and coach depot to the raised Metro station. This consists of ticket and information offices and four platforms plus a short bay previously used for parcels and stabling lines.
